History:
The Methodist Society has been in Rochford since 1822, originally meeting in a house where Market Alley turns into the Market Square. In 1841, they moved to a chapel in North Street and as the lease on the land ran out, they bought a plot of land and built the present chapel.
In 1897, a Sunday School hall was built alongside the chapel but it wasn't until 1973 that the two buildings were combined.
We are now planning a further stage in our development by upgrading the premises, including new toilet and kitchen facilities as well as a new vestry.
